The community was established in 1960. It can be found in the south of Southland Drive, Heritage Drive on the north, Macleod Trail on the west, and the Bow River to the east. The community is prominent by its cluster of business centres along the street, especially on the main street, the Fairmount Drive.Arcadia also offers a number of restaurants and hotels within the area. Due to its active and vibrant nature, it is awarded as the 2nd best community by the Avenue Calgary magazine in 2013. It also houses Calgary’s largest high school, the Lord Beaverbrook High School. The community has an easy access to neighbouring places as it is served by several transit bus routes, and as well as the Heritage CTrain Station making commuting very easy.

Acadia is located in the SE quadrant in the city of Calgary, homes in this community are very popular amongst families that are seeking more inner city living, without being too close to the downtown core.
