Cranston Real Estate

Canyon Meadows was first annexed to the city of Calgary in 1961, the area quickly saw development begin shortly after, with the community officially becoming established in early 1963. Through the mid 60's the community of Canyon Meadows also saw development of Canyon Meadows Estates where larger homes on quiet cul-de-sacs were developed, earmarking the community to become one of the more prominent communities in the south.  

Canyon Meadows is seen as being quite affordable in comparison to similar communities, with a golf course attached, you'll be hard pressed to find more affordable golf homes than any other community within the city.

This communities name was selected due to it's dynamic location on rolling planes, it's situated directly above the provincial Fish Creek park. Bordering this community, you'll find the newly expanded Anderson Road to the north, with 14th Street to the west and finally you'll find Macleod Trail on the east, with the completion of the ring road, residents will be just minutes away (to the west) to Stoney Trail or a 5-10 minute drive to the east to access Deerfoot Trail, making this one of the better south communities for getting anywhere in the city of Calgary. 

In Canyon Meadows, you'll find a selection of styles in single family properties to choose from, there are also townhouses and condominiums within the community providing options for a variety of Calgary home buyers. Being an older and established community, buyers will notice the larger lots in comparison to newer developments, as well as mature tree lined streets, and while there are many original properties, you'll also find a great mix of newly renovated homes that are great value for buyers.

New home owners who have purchased a property in Canyon Meadows will be excited to know there are a great selection of amenities nearby and within, for outdoor enthusiasts, this community has plenty of options, this includes fishing, hiking, plent of bicycle paths with Fish Creek being located directly beside the community. Golf lovers will thoroughly enjoy the ability to hit the green within walking distance at the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, making this a highly sought after community for golf enthusiasts who love this course and all that it has to offer. The community also has plenty of green space, fields, basketball and tennis courts, skating rinks and much more! 

Residents will also have access to the Canyon Meadows Pool and Fitness Centre, a city ran facility that offers a variety of services and classes that is open all year long. 

Canyon Meadows also has a fantastic community centre that residents can utilize throughout the year, with plenty of classes and programs including dance, educational courses, Yoga, Dog Training, Cards and board games. 

For shopping and entertainment, Southcentre Mall is just minutes away, located just off of Macleod Trail and Anderson Road. You can head south on Macleod Trail to access the Canyon Meadows Cinema, or go further south and access the Shawnessy shopping centre where there are hundreds of shops, stores, restaurants, fast food places, grocery stores, and big box stores. All of these amenities truly stack Canyon Meadows up as being one of the more highly desired communities that seems to offer something for everyone.
