Loving and compassionate interactions with the other inhabitants of the earth can play a significant role in our own personal development.
Gizmo, a seven-year-old Labradoodle’s non-judgemental and highly social nature will provide a unique form of support to children’s learning. He will help create a safe and nurturing environment that will allow children to take risks that lead to literacy learning. Studies have shown that reading to a dog improves reading fluency, makes reading fun, increases self-confidence improves attention skills, reduces stress, and inspires kids to become lifelong readers.
Dogs offer a combination of kindness, curiosity, and patience that provides the child with more confidence that ultimately carries over to their classroom environment.
