The students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 receive three, thirty-minute music classes in a six-day cycle. Through singing, movement, playing instruments, listening, and creating their own music, the students learn about rhythm, melody, harmony, and dynamics. The goals of the music program are to instill a greater appreciation of various types of music (classical, contemporary, and folk); to develop the students' own musical skills, and to foster a lifelong enjoyment of music in general.
The students also take part in “STA Family Time” to prepare for upcoming school celebrations.
St. Thomas Aquinas uses Growing in Christ, Growing in Faith to support our Religious Studies programs. There is an at-home component where students can watch videos, listen to songs, read bible stories and prayers, and enjoy some interactive activities.
